We believe that we Malayalees have, on account of the culture and qualities that we have inherited from our beautiful land and from our great forefathers, a special mission to fulfil in this world.

It was this staunch conviction that laid the foundation for our new movement. A Global Pravasi Malayalee venture of the modern age – that is the World Malayalee Federation! We are intent on uniting and serving, on lending a helping hand wherever and whenever we can, and on promoting social responsibility.

We are keen on showing the whole world THE ONLY WAY to human fulfilment: BEING HUMAN IN THIS OUR WONDERFUL UNIVERSE.

This key message has brought us prominent promoters, well-wishers and a large number of friends representing all walks of life from almost 93 countries and all continents since we first conceived this idea at the End of September 2016.

Malayalees of Good Will are most welcome to join our ranks and to strengthen this epochal undertaking!

Let me invite you, to join hands with us, without having ever to give up or to neglect your cherished and renowned associations. We are in your midst with our global character and global dimensions not to divide, but to unite.

Understood from this point of view, the WMF can claim to be a great global movement of unprecedented quality coordinating not only what happens within WMF but also within other Malayalee organisations to which we offer our cooperation.

You might now ask what we have been doing all the while!

ONAM 2017 was celebrated in Kerala by our South – Central and – North – Zonal Units under the title ONACHIRI – ORMACHIRI, so that the poor can also share the joys of ONAM.

Already after 14 months of hard work we felt it is time to gather our people in a Global Convention. On the 2nd and 3rd November our first Global Convention took place in Vienna, Austria. Besides our honourable Speaker of the Kerala Assembly Mr. P. Sreeramakrishnan and the famous actor and Member of the Indian Parliament Shree Suresh Gopi, Austrian
political prominence also took part in the Convention.

The weeks after the Convention were not a period for us to take rest because OCKHI the devastating cyclone in Kerala’s West Coast was causing untold suffering.In a much appreciated public Programme ‘UDAN PANAM’ held in Kochi we collected funds for the victims of the OCKHI. Actor and MP Mr. Suresh Gopi graced us on the occasion.

Our Global Sports Coordinator, Mrs. Sheela Nelson, herself a former prominent player in the women’s football organized last December – January football training camps for talented children in Kerala. She is still running such projects, for boys and girls.

Empowerment of women is our focus this year and many units celebrated the International Women’s Day on 08.03.2018. Our last great global event was the ICONIC WOMAN 2018. It took place in Kerala. Miss Swapna Augustine was chosen by public voting system as the ICINIC WOMAN 2018.

The European Region of the WMF organized a WMF European Family Meet 2018 last June in Croatia. Representatives from almost all European Countries and even from Russia took part in that memorable event.

Preparations were going on for the first KERALA MEET of the WMF in Kozhikode on 28.08.2018. However, overwhelmed by the Flood Catastrophe we had to drop the idea. A new date will be decided these days. The World Malayalee Federation is now actively engaged in Flood Relief and Reconstruction projects.

A lot of our members volunteered to save human lives during the recent Flood Catastrophe in Kerala, some of them fulfilled their mission in a heroic way. We financed hundreds of kits with articles of daily use, our members in Saudi Arabia dispatched 10000 Kgs of useful new articles and our friends in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore organized hundreds of
trucks full of useful articles for our suffering brothers and sisters in Kerala. Special mention must be made of the WMF UAE WOMEN’s group in Dubai which was the first Pravasi group to ship relief articles to Kerala.

During the Kerala Reconstruction our friends in HAITI collected funds to finance a WMF Project in Kerala to supply 500 families in need with stoves. Further projects in the field of medical aid for people living in unapproachable areas, as also in the field of start-up aid for deserving families are being planned.

Just now the WMF, especially the Kerala Units (North Zone, Central Zone, South Zone) are busy with KERALA MEET to me held on 30.12.2018 at Ernakulam Town Hall. It is conceived as a Family Meet of the KERALA WMF to which however ALL WMF members are invited.

A word on our organisational structure: A Global Cabinet consisting of 9 persons, 6 Regional Presidents and 6 Regional Coordinators, 14 Coordinators of Forums for Charity, Women, Youth, Business, Media, Public Relations etc. and 4 Team members: ALTOGETHER 39 Global Office Bearers build the global leadership. Organized in local Units, Chapters, in National,
Regional and Global level we are incessantly in contact with global Malayalees via social media.
